WMBC Missions

Missions is an important part of the life of WMBC. Our mission opportunities allow individuals to live out the Great Commission. Each year we partner with an organization to either support missions and mission organizations. We encourage you to prayerfully consider to join us to serve Christ, His people, and world through our short-term mission trip.

2019 Short Term Mission Trip

Our church will be returning to Fundación Salvación Orphanage in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, on July 15-22. If you would like to know more about this wonderful ministry, please contact Elias Garcia at

Humanitarian Respite Center

WMBC has been supporting and volunteering at Humanitarian Respite Center in McAllen, TX for years. Two or three times a year (Labor Day, Memorial Day) we take groups to serve at the Respite Center. We believe that human beings who have no food, no security, and are in crisis are needing God’s love and care. Contact Elias Garcia for more information at

MLK Weekend Mission Trip

The McAllen Ministry Team invites you to participate in a mission trip on January 18-21, 2019. We will serve families at the Humanitarian Respite Center as they rest, have a meal, and prepare to continue on their journey to connect with sponsors. We may also partner with a local Baptist church as it ministers to people in its neighborhood, Colonia. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity or other ways to support this ministry, contact Toni Kennedy by email at

2018 WMBC Mission Trip
Operation Christmas Child

National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child, a mission project of the Ladies Bible Study, is November 12-19, 2018. The boxes are currently located outside of the Sanctuary and will be collected through Sunday, November 4th. Items suggested for filling the boxes are: small toys (nothing with batteries), school supplies, washcloth, soap, person items such as combs, hair brush and toothbrush (no toothpaste).

Missions Support

WMBC is a major supporter of missions in the city and around the world. A percentage of every offering we take goes to support the work of our local Braes Interfaith Ministries, the Union Baptist Association of greater Houston, the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and Global Missions of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In addition each November is our Missions Emphasis month where we take a special offering to support the above work as well as urban ministry in the city, special missions projects, Baptist World Alliance, and our own WMBC mission work both locally and internationally.
