Special Events

Community, as well as providing a safe place for it, is very important to us here at WMBC. Throughout the year we host a variety of events for children and families that are open to the public and usually free of charge. We hope you will join us at the events as we continue to build a safe and loving community in Southwest Houston.

End of Summer Party!

Join us August 21, from 5:30pm-7:00pm, as we celebrate the end of summer and get ready for the start of a fantastic new school year! We will provide pizza and games for both children and parents, as well as engage in playful water wars. Grab your towel and join us for a fun evening with your WMBC family.

Labor Day McAllen Trip

WMBC is once again sending a team to volunteer at the McAllen Humanitarian Respite Center over Labor Day weekend. The team will be departing on Friday, August 30th and returning on Monday, September 2nd. Transportation will be by carpool, and accommodations will be at an area hotel. The Respite Center provides a simple meal, clean clothes, shower facilities, and a place to rest for families who have been released to the McAllen bus station by ICE and/or CBP while awaiting their immigration hearings. First time members are always welcome! Please contact the church office for more information

Wednesday Night Activities Resume

Wednesday Night Activities will resume on September 4th. Dinner will be served at 5:30PM ($5/adults, $2/children under 12), followed by your choice of activities. Our pastor, Craig, will be doing a series on Church History from 6:15PM-7:00PM in the Fellowship Hall. Lifeline Moms meets at 6:15PM-7:00PM in Room 205 if you are looking for a time of friendly fellowship and prayer. If you have a heart for music, the choir rehearses each Wednesday evening at 7:15PM, and all levels of musician are welcome! Childcare is FREE during this time!

For the kids:

Faithweaver Friends, for Kinder-2nd Grade: We will play games, act out stories from the Bible, and become better friends with Jesus.

Handbells with Mrs. Diane, for 3rd Grade and up: We will create beautiful sounds by learning handbell techniques and basic music theory.

Don't miss the most fun we'll have all year! Join us Saturday, September 7th from 5:00PM-7:00PM in the Gym for the first WMBC Prom. This night is nothing but pure fun! Enjoy snacks as you sit around the table with old and new friends. Swap stories about your own prom and growing up in your decade. Join in (if you like) as we learn some dances from different decades, and come dressed however you like: powder blue tux, big puffy sleeves with a giant bow, poodle skirt and loafers, leather jacket and jeans, formal Astros attire, or just what you wear every Saturday. The whole point is to have a night of story-swapping, a few snacks, a little dancing and a whole lot of fun. Will you go with us to the prom??? We hope you say, "Yes!"

Hymn Sing

WMBC will be hosting the annual Hymn Sing with Gerald Ray on September 15th at 6:00PM in the Sanctuary.
