Special Events

Community, as well as providing a safe place for it, is very important to us here at WMBC. Throughout the year we host a variety of events for children and families that are open to the public and usually free of charge. We hope you will join us at the events as we continue to build a safe and loving community in Southwest Houston.

Fine Arts Camp

June 10-14, 2019 from 9:00am-12:15pm

$110 per camper ($115 per camper if paying by credit card)

*Payment must be made at registration

*Parents who volunteer for the week will receive a 50% discount

This five-day camp gives children ranging from age 3 (bathroom independent) through completed 5th grade the opportunity to create art, movement, and music taught by an experienced faculty of local Houston professionals. Fine Arts Camp was established to provide children a place to discover what happens when Christian faith collides with artistic means of expression.

Maundy Thursday

Please join us on April 18th at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall as we remember the commandment given by Christ to love one another. During the service, you will have the choice to participate in foot-washing and/or communion with one another. Dinner will be served prior to the service at 5:30pm. If you do not have a standing reservation, please notify Shirley Kouri by Tuesday, April 16th that you would like to be added.

Good Friday

Join us on April 19th at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall as we walk with Jesus to the cross. During this service, we will remember and reflect upon his death through seven “shadows”, representing the seven stages of Jesus’ last hours.

Easter Sunday

Join us as we celebrate the risen King! Bible Study for all ages begins at 9:30am, during which the children will have the opportunity to participate in an Easter egg hunt, followed by Worship in the Sanctuary at 10:45am.

5th Sunday Mission Day

March 31

Worship at 9:30AM

Mission Work at 10:15AM

Join us as we partner with Southwest Houston United Responds (SHUR) to help our neighbors rebuild their home after Harvey. We will be working on a house, doing yard work and canvassing our community. For information contact Elias Garcia egarcia@wmbc.org.
